Second Wave Progress Update with Construction in the background

Second Wave Construction Update: One Step Closer to Our Structure

Published: July 25, 2024

Foundation Completion Nears

Our Second Wave construction project is making significant strides, and we are eagerly approaching a major milestone. Next week (the first week of August 2024), the construction team will complete the foundation phase, setting the stage for the next critical steps in our expansion journey.

Once the foundation is set, we will transition into the demolition phase on the backside of the building. This marks the beginning of an ambitious plan to create a new 5,000-square-foot structure. The demolition is the first step toward realizing our vision of a state-of-the-art space that will enhance our ability to host exhibits, events, and educational programs.

The forthcoming structure is designed with purpose and passion. It will provide much-needed space to delve deeper into the rich history of the Great Lakes, offering visitors an enriched experience. Our goal is to create a dynamic gathering place that fosters dialogue and exploration, making the museum a central hub for Great Lakes enthusiasts and scholars alike.
