On-Site Educational Programming
Field Trips
The National Museum of the Great Lakes offers a variety of educational programs for children of all ages. The museum offers unique and engaging field trip experiences, tailored to support students’ learning standards. Educator’s from the National Museum of the Great Lakes can also come right into your school with our outreach programming.
We prefer to book field trips 30 days in advance but may be able to arrange visits with less notice on a limited basis.

Field Trip Rates
Museum Visit: $7 per person
Museum Visit with Guided Tour of the Col. James M. Schoonmaker and Tug Ohio: $13 per person
(Available May 1 through October 31)
Teachers are always free.

Outreach
Our current outreach programs are developed for 4th – 8th grade and cover multiple STEM guidelines while discussing Great Lakes history. We are happy to welcome you to the museum or bring our educators to you. Please check out our current programs by clicking below. We are continually developing new resources for students and educators and we will make those available on the website.
Outreach Rates
$250 for one program
$350 for two presentations of the same program in the same day
$425 for three presentations of the same program in the same day
Grants are available to help schools in need fund their field trips or outreach programs. Contact us for more details.
