National Museum of the Great Lakes Unveils Vision at State of the Museum Address

April 9, 2025 (Toledo, Ohio) – The National Museum of the Great Lakes invites the media and our community to attend a landmark event—the State of the Museum Address on Monday, April 22, at 10 AM. Join us as we unveil the museum’s 5-year strategic plan and share exciting updates about the future of Great Lakes history and our community presence.

This address will take place in the Great Lakes Community Education Center, marking the first public event inside our new Second Wave Expansion space. It’s an exciting occasion you won’t want to miss, as museum leadership will discuss new key priorities, core values, and our vision to make Toledo the Great Lakes City.

“Our State of the Museum Address will be a pivotal moment for the National Museum of the Great Lakes,” said Kate Fineske, Executive Director of the museum. “We’re excited to share our strategic vision and demonstrate how we’re shaping the future of Great Lakes stories while also solidifying Toledo as the  gathering place for Great Lakes conversations.”

The event will kick off with our Annual Membership Meeting, followed by the State of the Museum presentation. Doors open at 9:30 AM. The event will also be live-streamed to the public at nmgl.org/sotm thanks to our partnership with Buckeye Broadband.

This is more than just an event—it’s an exclusive first look at the next chapter of the National Museum of the Great Lakes. We encourage the media to be part of this pivotal moment.
