Dive into the History of Great Lakes Shipwrecks at the National Museum of the Great Lakes’ History Happy Hour
The National Museum of the Great Lakes invites you to join us for an unforgettable evening of history and craft beer at our upcoming event, History Happy Hour: Shipwrecks of the Great Lakes on Thursday, August 22, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Museum.
Presented by Elaine Canning and Dan Kory, History Happy Hour promises to transport attendees back in time as they uncover the hidden stories of some of the most infamous and forgotten shipwrecks scattered across the Great Lakes. From the mysterious disappearance of Le Griffon, the first recorded shipwreck on the upper lakes, to the tragic sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald, this event will delve into the gripping narratives of fear, heartbreak, and survival that have shaped our understanding of these underwater cultural sites.
“This event is a fantastic opportunity to bring together beer and history enthusiasts in a unique environment,” said Cris Shell, the National Museum of the Great Lakes’ Event and Programs Coordinator. “We’re excited to offer a fun and engaging evening that opens our doors to a new community of visitors who can appreciate our fascinating Great Lakes history.”
In addition to the captivating presentations, attendees will have the chance to get a bonus check in on the 419 Ale Trail, making this a must-attend event for craft beer lovers. The event is open to individuals aged 21 and older. We will have snacks and non-alcoholic beverages available, too!
Guests are welcome to arrive anytime during the two-hour window to fully immerse themselves in this one-of-a-kind experience. Space is limited, so be sure to secure your spot!
