More than a century after it disappeared into a fierce Lake Erie storm, the fate of the Marquette & Bessemer No. 2 remains one of the Great Lakes’ greatest maritime mysteries. Join author and historian Dr. Thomas Adams as he examines the ship’s final voyage, the conditions that led to its loss, the crew who sailed aboard, and the evidence that may reveal its final resting place beneath the waters of Lake Erie.

This hybrid lecture series is free to attend, with the option to participate in person at the National Museum of the Great Lakes or online via Zoom. Registration is required for both attendance options. While the series is offered at no cost, donations are gratefully accepted to support future educational programming.
