Paterson Steamship Ltd.
In 1903, Norman Paterson joined the grain business with his father and went on to form the N.M. Paterson and Company in 1908. A few years later the company formed Paterson Steamships Ltd. to assist in the shipment of grain based products. The company logo is a simple design with a red diamond and white “P” at its center. Early in the company’s history, its house flag didn’t perfectly match the logo. The flag used was a fanion but only had a red “P” stitched on. The eight and half-foot long flat edged fanion flag seen here has been in use since the 1980s till 2002 when the fleet was sold. Today the company remains in business operating as Paterson Global Foods Inc.
