Signal Flags DELTA & X-RAY


The signal flag DELTA, marked by a white background and a navy blue horizontal stripe through the center, sends the message to surrounding vessels to “Keep clear, I am having difficulty maneuvering.”


The signal flag X- XRAY, marked by a white canton and a navy blue plus symbol that reaches the fours edges of the flag.  X relays the message to “Stop what you are doing, await further instruction and watch for my signals”.

D and X displayed together relay a distress signal that the boat is sinking.
