In 1928, the Cleveland yacht Club held the C.B. Johnston Star boat Trophy, presumably sponsored by Johnston. It is unknown what year this trophy race first began, but Johnston was a highly active member of Cleveland Yacht Club and involved in the Inter-Lake Yachting Association’s racing committee for Power Boats in the 1920s. If you know more about this trophy race’s history, please contact collections@nmgl.org.
