Dredging the Maumee – II

Dredging the Maumee River is a yearly task taken on by the US Army Corps of Engineers.  In November, 2020, their contractor Ryba Marine worked to remove the yearly 800,000 cubic yards of sediment to keep the channel clear for navigation. 2020 was a special year in dredging the Maumee.  Typically dredge spoil is redeposited into Lake Erie; in 2020 funding was provided to have all the spoil sent to a confined disposal facility in Toledo.
