Kayaks on the Maumee
Kayaks on the Maumee
In the 21st century, the Maumee River is increasingly being used for recreation again. Over the last 10-15 years, Kayaking has been gaining popularity across the nation. The Maumee makes for a perfect learning environment for first time kayakers, especially on a beautifully calm day such as this one. Experiences like this will only increase in number with the continued addition of parks and rental vendors to the river banks. A guided tour of the river allows a visitor to experience the beauty it has to offer, as well as learn about the amazing history of all that the Maumee has done for this area.
This exhibit is made possible by visitors like you. Please consider making a donation to the National Museum of the Great Lakes to help us continue our important work of preserving and making know the history of the Great Lakes.
