Join us for Freighter Golf: A Unique Putting Challenge on the Schoonmaker

The National Museum of the Great Lakes is thrilled to announce the return of Freighter Golf, inviting golf enthusiasts and families alike to enjoy a unique putting experience aboard the historic Col. James M. Schoonmaker Museum Ship. Sponsored by Savage & Associates, this event offers a hole-in-one challenge with the chance to win a free museum membership.

“Golf is an integral part of Toledo’s sporting culture, and we wanted to blend that love for the game with the rich history we showcase here at the museum,” said Kate Fineske, Executive Director of the National Museum of the Great Lakes. “Freighter Golf on the Schoonmaker is a fun way for people to test their putting skills while exploring a piece of maritime history.”

The event features custom-built putting greens on the Schoonmaker, providing a distinctive backdrop for a friendly competition.
