H2Oh! Making Waves 2019 Online Auction

The National Museum of the Great Lakes is excited to offer this online bidding system for our silent and live auctions for H2Oh! Making Waves.  Please browse our many offerings and feel free to submit a bid on any item you want to buy.  We will be sending confirmation emails to everyone that bids as well as updating the website as new high bids come in.

Online bidding for the silent auction items will end at 4 pm on Friday, September 13, 2019.  You will be notified on Monday, September 16, 2019 about the results of the auction.

#OL1 – Northern Michigan Road Trip

Explore all that Norther Michigan and the Upper Pennesuila have to offer.  Start in Petwosky, MI with dinner for 2 and a night at the Odawa Casino.  Venture on up to the Mackinaw area and enjoy a Family Heritage Pass to Mackinac State Historic Parks which gives you free access to Fort Mackinac, The Richard and Jane Manoogian Mackinac Art Museum and Historic Downtown Mackinac on Mackinac Island, and Colonial Michilimackinac, Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse and Historic Mill Creek Discovery Park in Mackinaw City for a year.  End in Paradise, MI with an overnight at the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum in the restored 1923 Coast Guard Lifeboat Station Crews Quarters.

#OL2 – Edmund Fitzgerald Framed Lithograph

A beautifully framed print of the Edmund Fitzgerald on November 10, 1975 by Arthur G. Anderson.  The lithograph is numbered and signed by the artist.  The distressed gold frame is 28.5″ high x 34″ long.  Mr. Anderson is well known for creating the art for the USPS 1987 Ducks Unlimited Stamps.  (Please note, any winning bid must either pick this up from the National Museum of the Great Lakes or pay additional for shipment)

#OL3 – Brown’s Olivier Vernon Signed Football

A signed white panel football with orange stitching and signing pen from one of the newest Cleveland Browns, Olivier Vernon!  This Defensive End, who played at Miami was acquired by the Browns in March 2019 in a trade.  He has played the last 8 years for the New York Giants and Miami Dolphins.  The Cleveland defensive line looks so much better because Olivier is here!

#OL5 – Adventure Across Lake Michigan

Start your day at Little Sable Point Lighthouse in Mears,  MI with passes for 2 adults and 3 children.  Dive north up the coast to Ludington where you can hop on the only coal fired boat left in the country, the SS Badger, with tickets for 2 passengers – round trip.  Enjoy the day in Manitowac, WI with a family pass to the Wisconsin Maritime Museum.

#OL6 – Fighting the Fury

A signed limited edition offset lithograph print after a painting titled Fighting the Fury: Stmr. Carl D. Bradley by Paul A. Essmaker. This reproduction image depicts the Carl D. Bradley as she fights the storm that doomed her in Lake Michigan on Nover 18, 1958.  The work is signed both in-plate and in graphite in the lower right, and is hand numbered 138 in an edition of 750. It is presented under glass with a pale blue mat in a white wood frame. There is a hanging wire mounted to the verso.

#OL7 – Cleveland  Cavilers – Collin  Sexton  signed  hat

A signed hat from the Cleveland Cavilers newest star point guard!  Collin Sexton was drafted in the first round by the Cavilers in 2018 from the University of Alabama.  During his first season as a Cav, Sexton played in every game with an average of almost 17 points per game.

#OL9 – Beach Glass and Labradorite Necklace

This 17-inch necklace was made and donated by the artists at Relish in Erie, PA.  It has beach glass, sourced from the Great Lakes as well as beautiful labradorite pieces.  This will soon become a favorite piece in your jewelry box.

#OL10 – Handmade, 18′, Wooden Canoe

This beautiful all wood canoe was crafted by the students at The Maritime Academy of Toledo.  The canoe is made of cedar strips with white oak rails and caned seats. It is an 18” 6” guide model, E.M. White design. It is 34.5” wide with a 12” depth. It weights approximately 80 pounds and can hold 800-1000 lbs of gear and passengers. It was built during the 2018/ 2019 school year by the Maritime Career Tech 10th grade cadets in the Maritime Academy’s Boat Building Lab.

If you bid on and win this item, know that you will be supporting TWO great organizations!  We will be splitting all proceeds with The Maritime Academy of Toledo.
