Firefighter Rappelling
Firefighter Rappelling
Firefighters in a port city need additional training in working around ships and wharves. The Toledo Fire Department utilizes the Col. James M. Schoonmaker Museum Ship to train for fires and other water disasters.
The Schoonmaker has also been used for training by the US Coast Guard and Custom Border Patrol as well as the FBI. Having a museum ship in Toledo that is still somewhat similar to the vessels plying the Maumee River helps a lot of safety and service professionals.
