Submarine History on the Great Lakes Library Exhibit

November 1 - December 31

The National Museum of the Great Lakes is on the road with a new temporary banner exhibit at the Toledo Lucas County Public Library featuring Submarine History on the Great Lakes. Visit the Main Library in downtown Toledo to take a unique walk through submarine history and its shared connection to our Great Lakes.

Dive through submarine and military history on the Great Lakes including:

  • The first documented submarines on the Great Lakes by Lodner Phillips
  • Military Shipbuilding on the Great Lakes
  • Submarine construction by Manitowoc Shipbuilding Company in Wisconsin
  • Remembering the WWII Manitowoc submarines and sailors lost.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

Submarine History on the Great Lakes will begin its exhibition in the main atrium on the first floor of the Toledo Lucas County Public Library — Main Library located at 325 Michigan Street in downtown Toledo. The library has free underground parking, accessible off Adam’s Street. The temporary exhibit officially opens on November 1 and will remain at the Library through the end of the year.
