Discover how everyday actions in our region directly impact the health of Lake Erie in this new micro exhibit, presented in partnership with the Lake Erie West Regional Council. Lake Erie Starts Here: Northwest Ohio explores the journey of rainwater from our neighborhoods to local streams, rivers, and ultimately the lake—carrying pollutants along the way.
Through practical, real-world examples, the exhibit highlights simple steps visitors can take to protect water quality, from using fertilizer responsibly and picking up pet waste to managing leaves, reducing road salt use, planting native species, and properly disposing of trash.
With a focus on small actions and big impact, this exhibit empowers visitors to make everyday choices that help protect Lake Erie—because it all starts here.
