Toledoan Jim Hoffman had a lifelong love affair with Great Lakes Boats. Considered a legend among fellow boatnerds, his photographs are instantly recognizable by most Great Lakes shipping photographers. On November 7, 2020, Jim passed away leaving a vast collection of images. In memory of his legacy and passion for Great Lakes vessels, we invite you to walk alongside his life’s passion and relive his photographic memories in our first temporary exhibit of 2021—Jim Hoffman: The Photographic Life of Toledo’s Original Boatnerd.

Exhibit admission is free for members and included with any museum admission purchase. The temporary exhibit will be open during regular museum hours—from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday thru Saturday and Sunday from noon – 5 p.m. Individuals can purchase same-day tickets at the door or online in advance here.
