Capt. Scupper’s Kid’s Club: Lego on the Lakes

August 22 @ 10:30 am - 1:30 pm

📅 Every Saturday in August | 10:30 am – 1:30 pm

Located in the Great Lakes Community Education Center | Included with museum admission, free for members and Museums for All.

Set sail for creativity with Capt. Scupper’s Kids Club: Lego on the Lakes, co-presented by The Collaborative and Lathrop Co. and supported by the Darrell & Jean Fox Fund. Throughout August, young builders and their families are invited to transform our Great Lakes Community Education Center into a bustling Lego shipyard—designing and constructing their own vessels inspired by the ships of the Great Lakes. From historic schooners to modern freighters, or even a miniature version of the Col. James M. Schoonmaker or Tug Ohio, the only limit is imagination.

What to Expect

Hands-On Design & Build: Plan, problem-solve, and bring your vessel to life using provided Lego bricks.
Creative Engineering: Explore basic design concepts while experimenting with structure, balance, and form.
Showcase Finale: Display your completed creation and celebrate the creativity and craftsmanship of every builder.
