Elevator B Fasset Street Bridge, ca. 1907
Elevator B Fassett Street Bridge, ca. 1907
Elevator “B”, located in East Toledo at the base of Fassett St. was owned by the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad and operated by Grain Marketing Co. Elevator “B”, along with at least three additional elevators on the east side of the river and a 22-foot deep water dock, were serviced by the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad. Having both easy water and railroad access helped make Toledo one of the most important grain ports in the United States in the early 20th Century.
